Welcome to the home of the

Midwest Papillon
Association!

The first UKC recognized Papillon breed club
in the United States!

Thank you for visiting our website.  Here you will find information about our Association, the Papillon Breed, our members and the activities we are involved in, upcoming events we are hosting, and much more.

Members in our Association are breeders, dog enthusiasts, and pet owners.  Our emphasis in on the Papillon, but we welcome owners of other companion breeds and also those interested in UKC events to join us.  Our "How Do I Join?" page provides information on joining MPA.

Papillons or  "butterfly dogs" as they are often called, are lively little dogs that excel in the show ring and in a variety of performance events.  These include:  agility, obedience, tracking, fly ball, and even dock-diving!   Therapy work is another area that Papillons love.   Learn more about our breed by visiting our Papillon Information page.

Our members and their Papillons are involved in many activities.  Many different breeding lines of Papillons are represented in our association providing diversity.  This diversity of breeding lines provides those new to our breed the ability to learn so much more than by just studying one line.  You can learn more about each member, their fur kids, and the activities they participate in by visiting Our Members page.

Don't forget to visit our News and Brags page for the latest information about events our members are involved in, wins by member dogs, announcements of new arrivals, and activities the association is involved with.

As events hosted by our association are planned and scheduled, they will be posted on our Upcoming Events page.  Here you will details for the events including date, time, and location.

The Midwest Papillon Association was formed in 2005 by a small group of Papillon lovers.  Through the hard work of a handful of individuals, the association gained United Kennel Club (UKC) recognition as the first Papillon breed club in the entire United States in August of 2007!  We are very excited about this designation and are working towards hosting our first UKC conformation show in the near future.   Click to review our Mission Statement, Code of EthicsConstitution, and Bylaws.

We are based in Southern Michigan were the majority of our members live.  This includes West Michigan near Grand Rapids, the Jackson area near Parma, and the Detroit and Port Huron areas of the state.   At present we are expanding to become regionally known by encouraging membership from Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.  Our goal is to become the National Papillon Breed Club recognized by the United Kennel Club and invite anyone with a love of Papillons to join our organization.  Membership applications are available "How Do I Join?".
