The MPA Code of Ethics
As a member of the Midwest Papillon Association, I pledge:
To
uphold the goals of the Club as set forth in the MPA constitution and to
encourage good sportsmanship in the sport of dogs.
To uphold the United Kennel Club (UKC) rules applying to dog shows
and registration.
To breed Papillons only with the aim of maintaining or improving
the qualities of the breed as set forth in the standard, and not for personal
gain. I will never knowingly sell puppies to wholesalers, laboratories or
to pet stores.
To serve as an example of good sportsmanship at all times and to
keep in mind that the good of the breed comes before any personal benefit.
To assist and befriend newcomers and novices to the best of my ability.
I will maintain the best possible standard of health and care in
all of my dogs.
In my breeding program I will keep alert for and work to control
and/or eradicate inherited problems and conditions that are particular to my
breed, and breed as closely as possible to the breed standard.
To conduct all kennel practices in a clear, honorable, and open fashion.
